BANGALORE: Following the runway maintenance work at Bangalore International Airport on Sunday, airlines were asked to reschedule their flights.

The maintenance work will continue till April 3 and the runway will be closed between 10.30 am and 5.30 pm. All the 340 flights that fly everyday were told to follow the closure time. BIA said that the maintenance work will be carried out in a phased manner and the closure had minimal impact on airport operations. However, cab drivers on BIA stretch said, “This change in timings made an impact on our business. We are trying to consider other options till April 3,” said Rajashekhara, a cab driver. Meanwhile, the airport authorities are trying to make arrangements for passengers who will have to wait in the airport during this seven-hour closure.
