BANGALORE: Vasan Eye Care Hospitals observed the World Glaucoma week from March 11. The hospital organised walkathon in Jayanagar which included doctors and staff from the hospital, local sports personalities and also large number of school and college students to spread awareness on glaucoma, an eye disorder. The walk was flagged off by Vijay Kumar, MLA of Jayanagar constituency. Sonia Narang, IPS, DCP — South Bangalore was also present at the event.

Glaucoma is a disorder in which the optic nerve suffers damage, permanently impacting vision in the affected eye (s) and progresses to complete blindness if

left untreated.

Farman Basha, Arjuna Awardee — Para Olympian, Venkatesh, Ekalavya Awardee — Dwarf Olympian, Raghavendra Anvekar, English Channel — Swimming, Rajesh Shinde, English Channel — Swimming and Ranjini Ramanujam, Arjuna Awardee — Badminton joined hands with the organisation to spread awareness on this disorders.
