BANGALORE: T John College celebrated Graduation Day amidst great fanfare and aplomb on college campus recently.  The lighting of the lamp by the chairman and other dignitaries marked the beginning of the evening’s programme. The students were honoured with prizes for various academic and non-academic activities. There was a fashion show titled “de’ file’ de mode,” where final year students of the department of fashion and apparel design presented their collection of outfits. The collection was well-received by students.

Delivering the graduation address, Dr Thomas P John, chairman of T John Group of Institutions said, “Think about your dream all the time. No matter what else you are doing, live your dream in your imagination. Become obsessed by it. Love it. Be passionate about it.” He added, “Graduation is only a concept. In real life, we graduate every day. Graduation is a process that goes on until the last day of your life. If you can grasp that, you’ll make a difference in all that you do.”

The chief guest Dr C N Manjunath, Director of Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, too told the students to have a social conscience in everything they do. The day was made memorable with a power point presentation highlighting the strengths and achievements of each student in the college as observed over the years. The T John Group of Institutions was founded in 1988 by the former Minister of Karnataka State for Infrastructure Development and Aviation, T John. His son Dr Thomas, after completing his MBBS from M S Ramaiah College, decided to run the college in 1993. He is the present chairman of the Institution.
