K Vidya, a Class 10 student of Sivakasi Hindu Nadar Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Egmore, won the second prize for completing a project at IIT Madras. She received the award at a function organised by the Industrial Waste Management Association (IWMA) on February 27. She was also honoured with the ‘Young Woman Achiever Award’ by the Avvai Illam Women’s Club on the occasion.
Vidya completed her project under the guidance of her teacher A Baburajan.
