BANGALORE: Exactly 1,008 veena artistes from across all districts in Karnataka and spanning across all age groups will be performing a recital in the city soon. The Art of Living Foundation has teamed up with the Ranjini Kalakendra to organise a musical extravaganza titled the Sahasra Veena Jhenkara in Bangalore. The event is scheduled to be held on March 28 at Palace Grounds from 6.30 pm onwards.
The planning started six months ago and the musicians have been undergoing rigorous training at various centres under our tutelage, said Dr Suparna Ravishankar, director of Ranjini Kalakendra, and a veena exponent who has composed pieces set to Carnatic ragas like Hamsadwani and Sriraga.
