BANGALORE: To create a sporting culture and well being of the city’s population, Bangalore school Sports Foundation in association with Wellness India is organising a 3-mile wellness revolution — A series of runs/walks that is expected to trigger and build a ‘health revolution’.

The movement and drive will also include a  series of value-based programmes that will invigorate young and old alike to participate in the runs.

According to the press release, The three-mile run will be organised every month in different constituencies to promote community wellness through sport as a medium of communication, education and prevention. To champion this run, athlete Reeth Abraham has been chosen as the Ambassador of run.

The three-mile wellness run is scheduled to be held on March 25 at Sree Kanteerava stadium.

The event is expected to attract individuals from all walks of life who health a primary place in their daily agenda and want to motivate others into it. Various categories of run to be organised are: Children run, Family run, Corporate run, Community run, Senior Citizens’ walk.

The wellness run conceptualised by Elvis Joseph, a sports management professional and director of Bangalore Schools Sports Foundation. According to him, there are seven important and critical dimensions to wellness: physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, environmental and occupational.
