BANGALORE: A couple committed suicide by consuming poison at their residence in Kalyan Nagar in Jnanabharathi police station limits on Tuesday. It is suspected that they took the extreme step three days ago as their bodies had decomposed.

The deceased couple Venkataramana, 45, and his wife Lakshmi, 40, were working at a city-based law college. A few years ago they had quit their jobs and Venkataramana was working as a middleman and helped students get admissions in colleges. Police said the couple’s neighbours informed the matter to the police. The reason for the suicide is yet to be ascertained.

Jewellery Stolen

Unidentified miscreants made away with jewels worth `10 lakh from a realtor’s house in Rangantathpur in Vaiyalikaval police station limits on Monday. According to the police, the victim Shetty and his wife had gone to Tumkur, while their children were in school.  The incident came to light when the children returned home.

Man Ends Life

Manjunath, 28, a worker,  committed suicide by hanging at his residence in Yeshwantpur on Monday. Police said the incident came to light when his brother went  to visit Manjunath.
