BANGALORE: Fight over a girl ended in the murder of two youths who were in love with her. The incident took place behind the Shiva Temple in Goraguntepalya Industrial Suburb Road on Saturday evening. In a swift action, the police arrested eight youths in connection with the double murder.

The deceased have been identified as Kishore (19), a resident of Krishnanandanagar and a first year B Com student at KLE College in Rajajinagar and Keshav (23), a native of Chikkaballapur who was working as an assistant at Hi-Tech Cyber Cafe in Goraguntepalya. He was staying in a rented room near the cyber cafe.

According to the police, Keshav and Kishore were in love with a girl, an SSLC student at a private school in Rajajinagar 1st Block and a resident of Parimalanagar.

The duo used to roam around her house and both had come to know that they were loving the same girl. This had led to rivalry between the duo and they had quarrelled over the matter on several occasions.

On Saturday around 7.15 pm, when Keshav was at the cyber cafe, Kishore came with his four associates in an autorickshaw and dragged Keshav out of the shop and attacked him with lethal weapons, they added.

“In retaliation, Keshav’s four associates attacked Kishore and his associates with lethal weapons. Keshav and Kishore sustained fatal wounds and they were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they succumbed after sometime,” the police added.

Kishore’s associates Renuka and Shiva also sustained injuries.

The police who swung into action immediately, arrested the duo along with their associates Harisha and Manju. Meanwhile, Keshav’s associates Dileep, Kiran, Manja and Kiran were also arrested.

Senior police officers, including DCP of North Division Revanna, visited the spot. A case has been registered in RMC Yard police station.
