The first convocation of Christ College of Arts and Science was held on Friday on its premises at Kilachery village near Perambakkam in Tiruvallur.
Ninety seven first-time graduates of the college received their degree certificates from the Madras University on the occasion.
Chairman of the college and Archbishop of Madras, Mylapore, Rev Dr A M Chinnappa presided over the function. Rev Dr Ignacimuthu, former vice chancellor of Madras University and director of Entomology Research Institute, Loyola College, presented the convocation address.
Principal Rev Dr Anthony Sebastian welcomed the gathering and college secretary Rev Fr P B Martin proposed the vote of thanks.
