BANGALORE: The Bangalore region laboratories of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) have bagged the major share of Annual DRDO Awards 2011, held at New Delhi recently. Defence Minister A K Antony gave away the awards in the presence of DRDO chief V K Saraswat. The awardees are Vikram Singh (Aeronautical Development Agency), K P Jayaprakash (Centre for Air Borne Systems), Hemant Vasant Paranjape (Defence Avionics Research Establishment), J Sankar Kumar (Gas Turbine Research Establishment), Pramod Kumar (Electronics and Radar Development Establishment) and Santhosh Kumar (Microwave Tube Research and Development Centre) under Young Scientists’ Awards category.

Best Performance Awards were presented to Renu Sharma (Centre for Military Airworthiness and Certification), N Hoysala (Defence Bio-Engineerin), S N Mahesh (Centre for Artificial Intelligence), M K Geetha (Microwave Tube Research and Development Centre) and K Manoharan (Naval  Physical Lab).
