BANGALORE: ‘Legacy of Heroes’ (LOH) demonstration by the Sikrosky S-92 Helicopter was carried out in the city on Wednesday. It  will be on display on March 28 and 29 also.

The helicopter, which has been part of many rescue operations across many countries, is said to have rescued over two million people.

The helicopter will visit Hyderabad, New Delhi and Mumbai,the officials said.  “Sikorsky helicopters have been operating in India for quite some time. In fact, the first helicopter inducted into the Indian Air Force in 1954 was a Sikorsky,” Air Vice Marshal (Retd) Arvind Walia, Executive Vice President, India and South Asia, said. He added that the cabin solutions for the company was sought from Indian manufacturers.

Adding to the rescue work carried out by the helicopter, Stacy Sheard, pilot for the S-92 Legacy of Heroes tour, stated, “Since its earliest helicopters, Sikorsky has routinely been the first to arrive on the scene of natural disasters and other emergency, life-threatening situations.”
