BANGALORE: The property tax collection in Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Pailke (BBMP) for the financial year 2012-2013 will start from April 1.
The residents who have developed their properties need to update with the BBMP’s Revenue Department and pay the tax as per the actual measurement of their property.
Deputy Commissioner, Revenue, Ramakanth said, “People cannot escape from the tax net. Last year, the property tax collection was about `1,180 crore. From this year, a two per cent fine will be imposed for delay in the payment.”
BBMP has made a provision for paying the property tax in two instalments - one before May and another in November or December.
