BANGALORE: Tension prevailed at various campuses of IT giant Infosys across the nation on Friday evening after an unidentified miscreant made a hoax bomb call. However, after a thorough search, the calls were proved hoax at all places.

According to the police, the Electronics City campus received an anonymous call around 5.30 pm and a man threatened that explosives have been planted on the campus. The staff immediately alerted the police control room and the bomb disposal squad and sniffer squad, rushed to the spot immediately.The CISF personnel also joined. After a thorough search for more than three hours, the police came to the conclusion that the call was hoax as no explosive substances were found.

“The calls were made from the number 8688310584 and the SIM is in the name of Apala Naidu of Srikakulam. Calls to city campuses, Pune and Chennai have been made using this number. Investigations are on to trace the caller,” the police told Express.
