Srinivas was not into realty business: Brother

V Srinivas, 30, who was hacked to death by a group of unidentified people near BDA Complex in Banashankari Second Stage on Saturday, was not into real estate business, his elder brother V Narendra claimed on Sunday.

When contacted, Narendra said, “We are really upset with the police who gave wrong information to the media that Srinivas was a real estate businessman. I suspect the police are trying to divert the issue. Our close relative Sridhar and another man called Harish were frequently harassing my family over a property dispute. They had also kidnapped Srinivas a few months ago. He knew that his life was in danger as they repeatedly called him on his cell phone since morning on Saturday. But he  tried to attend the court case, which is related to the same property dispute.”

“Srinivas was taking care of his land and farming. He was never into real estate business,” Narendra said.

“Anekal police neglected  the case filed by my brother about threat to his life when he was kidnapped a few months ago. We had given evidence to the police against Sridhar, Harish, Muniswamy, Nanjundappa and Anilkumar who were frequently threatening Srinivas of killing him very soon. But the police tried to strike a compromise in the matter instead of taking action against them,” he alleged.

‘Auto Stolen for Murder’

Meanwhile, Suresh Babu, Assistant Commissioner of Police  (Banashankari sub-division) said, “We are looking out for the miscreants and during the investigation, it is learnt that they have stolen an autorickshaw (KA 05 D 4770) to execute the murder plan. We don’t reveal any information about the case, which is under investigation”, he said.
