Rain lashed the city on Saturday much to the relief of people who were experiencing sultry weather for the last one week. While the rain battered Koramangala, Infantary Road, MG Road, Queen’s Road and surrounding areas, it was scanty in other parts.

According to the Metrological Department, the city received 34.2 mm rain at 8.30 pm.

A cow was electrocuted on Y G Mutt Road in Koramangala. Rain water entered basement of Naveen Terrace Apartment partially submerging three cars which were parked there.  On receipt of information, the fire tenders drained out water from the basement.

Two trees were uprooted due to the thunder showers.  BBMP deployed its employees to clear the debris.

The BDA Complex in Koramangala was also flooded. Traffic in different parts of the city came to a grinding halt following the rain. Two-wheeler riders were seen taking shelter under the trees.

There were reports of scanty rains in Vijayanagar, Mahalakshmi Layout and Rajajinagar
