Thousands of BE students from Bangalore on Friday staged a protest on Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) campus in Belgaum, seeking a review of the CRITICAL system.

As per the CRITICAL system, students who have failed in one subject in the first year will not be allowed to secure admissions to the third year BE.

Likewise, if a student has failed in one subject in the second year then he or she will not be allowed to secure admissions to the final year BE.

The CRITICAL has detained 15,000 BE students who will not be permitted to admissions to third and fourth year. The students have submitted a memorandum to the VTU Registrar to amend the examination rules.
