
The National Service Scheme of Guru Nanak College extended its cooperation to the electoral registration officer of the Velachery and Saidapet Assembly constituencies, Zonal XIII to conduct an awareness rally on October 10 to create awareness in connection with the enrolment of names in the electoral roll.
The rally was flagged off by Dr R Anandakumar IAS, Regional Joint Commissioner (South), Corporation of Chennai, K Sudhakar IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Adyar, general secretary and correspondent Sardar Manjit Singh Nayar and principal Marlene Morais. NSS programme officers, higher officials from Chennai Corporation and the revenue department also took part.
The rally started at 9 am from Guru Nanak College, went on through Velachery Bypass Road, Vijaya Nagar Bus Stand, Velachery Main Road and ended at Guru Nanak College Campus. Nearly 150 students of the college participated in the rally.
The NSS and Red Ribbon Club of Guru Nanak College organised a blood donation camp on October 9. Principal Marlene Morais inaugurated the camp where nearly 366 students of shift I and shift II and staff members donated their blood to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital Blood Bank.
