Three farmers attacked in tiff

In a tiff between farmers and middlemen, three farmers were stabbed by middlemen in Santhemala in K R Puram on Tuesday.

Police arrested Yele Seena, president of K R Puram Santhe Varthakara Sangha and others in this connection. Farmers Murthy, Chennakeshava and Ganesh, who sustained stab injuries, have been hospitalised. Police said that issuing places to farmers in Santhemala had snowballed into a controversy over the last one week and this had led to a tiff between farmers and middlemen.

“On Tuesday morning,  farmers arrived at Santhemala and engaged in a heated with middlemen. During this, some middlemen attacked the farmers with knives and three were injured. The police rushed to the spot and controlled the situation. Farmers staged a protest following the incident,” the police said.

K R Puram police have registered an attempt to murder case in this connection.
