With the BMRCL opening up trading activities and beginning of tendering processes on its pillars, the defining moment of the outdoor advertising industry has come.

“The next thing will be advertising on the trains itself. We will reap the benefits once all the lines of the Phase 1 open up. But since the Reach 1 is centrally located, it is benefiting us largely,” said B Kalyan, a media buying and selling consultant on M G Road.

Meanwhile, others applauded this move and are hoping that it will draw in huge business and solve the problems of lack of eye balls on the M G Road stretch.

The Metro pillars will be a completely new advertising medium.
