Theft at MP’s home: Case cracked

The Kolar police cracked the theft case reported at MP Adikeshavalu Naidu’s residence in Sadashivnagar recently.

 Addressing reporters on Friday, IGP (Bangalore Central Range) Amar Kumar Pandey said on October 8, police on night patrol, found two men moving suspiciously.

 They were trying to sell golden ornaments to a pawn shop owner in Kolar. The police arrested the duo. During interrogation, they identified themselves as Ajay Kutti and Babajan, both residents of Kolar.

 They further revealed that Akram was working in the MP’s house for the last three years and had gained the confidence of the family members. He started stealing jewels and has also stolen a pistol with five live rounds.

 They revealed that Babajan used to dispose of the valuables.

 They confessed to having sold the ornaments in Kolar, Srinivasapura, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Mumbai and Rajasthan. Police recovered booty worth Rs 1.5 crore from Babajan’s residence.
