Come Ayudha Pooja and the City Armed Reserve Headquarter on Mysore Road gears up for celebrations, which has been followed for years. Says Joint Commissioner of Police (CAR), B N S Reddy: “It is quite a historical affair here. We witness a huge gathering.”
Thousands of ammunition, weapons, police vans, motorcycles, tear gas shells, water jets etc., are brought to the headquarter for the pooja. “For every police official, this day is very sacred,” says Reddy.
There are two other centres as well which also conduct the pooja; City Armed Reserve, Koramangala, the headquarter for South Bangalore and City Armed Reserve, Thanisandra for North Bangalore.
Apart from the City Armed Reserve, most of the police stations in the city also conduct Ayudha Pooja.
