The Department of Higher Education has ruled that Bangalore University’s five-year integrated MSc in Biological Science equivalent to a two-year postgraduate degree. This has brought clarity to the job-seekers.
In a letter, the Higher Education Under Secretary, Prakashrao Kesarkar said the integrated MSc Biological Science course has been declared as an equivalent to 2-year M Sc degree in Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Genetics, Biochemistry and Biotechnology “for consideration in appointments and in teaching positions.”
The Karnataka State Higher Education Council said, “case of appointments the person who possesses five-year MSc integrated Biological course may be considered on par with 2 years Master’s Degree of equivalent subjects.”
