Kids show talent at science fair

Over 400 students of government and NGO-funded schools displayed their talents through models of various machines at Prabodhana, the 11th annual science fair organised at the GE India Technology Centre in the city on Saturday.

The fair was organised by Volunteers of the Bangalore GE office. Suguna, a student of the Kurubarahalli Government High school had displayed an automatic sieve  and enthusiastically answered visitors questions. She said she got the idea seeing her mother use the sieve.

Sangeeta R, another student of the same school laid out the working of a model house which can help in conserving rain water.

The co-ordinator of the the GE volunteers of the Bangalore Chapter Ramakrishna Rao explained how the centre has been involved in the  education of the underprivileged students for 11 years.

“We work at schools with students who are economically disadvantaged and schools for the physically challenged,” he said.
