Freshers day at St Joseph College of Engineering

The St Joseph College of Engineering celebrated freshers day for the academic year of 2012-2013, on August 31 here. The celebrations started with a prayer song which was followed by a prayer by Rev Fr Jesudas. Principal Dr B Venkatraman welcomed the gathering and honoured the chairpersons.

Fastina, a former student, shared her experiences at the college with the freshers. After this, St Joseph’s Link Volume — 9, the college newsletter, was released by the principal and chief guest Ramkumar from The New Indian Express received the first copy.

Rev Sister Virgin, managing trustee, addressed the gathering, followed by a speech by Dr Subbiah Bharathi, Principal of DMI engineering college. The college choir then sang a special song for chief guest Ramkumar who motivated the students with his inspirational words.  Wee Kingsly, HOD of MBA, delivered the vote of thanks, which was followed by a cultural and interactive session, in which both parents and students participated actively.

The programme ended with the singing of the National Anthem.
