The trial run of the much-awaited Cauvery Fourth Stage Second Phase project from TK Halli is all set to begin on Friday. The project is expected to supply water to about 12 lakh people in erstwhile city and municipal councils.
The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has taken up the works at a cost of Rs 3,383.70 crore.
The Board has taken financial assistance from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to augment city’s need of 900 million litres a day (MLD) with a supply of 500 million litres a day.
The works which were scheduled to be completed by March, were delayed due to lack of skilled labour, welders and carpenters.
Minister S Suresh Kumar will inaugurate the trial run.
