LPG leak: 5 injured in fire

Five members of a family sustained severe burn injuries in an explosion due to LPG leakage at a house in Mahalakshmi Layout police station limits on Friday morning.

The injured have been identified as Fathima Bibi, 60, Aiyasha 16, Sikandar 19, Imtiaz, 22 and ten-month-old Pervez. It is said that Fathima and Prevez’s condition is critical.

According to the police, the incident took place around 11 am when Aiyasha went to the kitchen to make tea. After switching on the valve, she came out and was talking with her neighbours. After a while she went back and lit the stove. It resulted in a huge explosion due to leakage of gas.

All family members sustained severe injuries and the impact of the explosion was so huge that the walls and household articles were damaged.
