The eye donation programme was observed at St Vincent’s Matriculation Higher Secondary School, by the volunteers of all service units. A rally and a human chain were organised on September 7 to spread awareness about eye donation. The chief guest was Dr Ramesh, eye surgeon and director of Child Trust, Padi. The programme started with an introduction about eye donation. Vincent Paul Raj, JRC head leader, delivered the welcome address.
Addressing the gathering chief guest Dr Ramesh said eye donation was the greatest gift one could offer to society. He then went on to flag off the rally. The students formed a human chain across Nelson Manickam Road holding banners flashing slogans on eye donation, and distributed pamphlets to the public.
