A dacoit allegedly involved in several chain snatching cases was found murdered at a shed in Pillappana Katte in Sunkadakatte off Magadi Road on Sunday. The victim,  Rakesh alias Raki, 25, was facing chain snatching cases in Jnanabharathi police station.

Police said Rakesh was released on a bail from Parappana Agrahara Central Prison 15 days ago. A passer-by noticed his body at an abandoned shed at Pillappana Katte and informed the police. Unidentified men had lit his throat.

“The body was wrapped in a mat. It appears like he was murdered somewhere else and his body was thrown in the shed in the wee hours of Sunday. It is suspected that some of his associates are behind the murder and differences over sharing the loot might have led to the murder,” the police added. The Kamakshipalya police have registered a murder case in this connection.
