Every year, the third week of September is celebrated as World Green Building Week. The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) of Bangalore Chapter organised the ‘Green Walkathon’ to spread awareness amongst the citizens of Bangalore. Minister of Law and Parliamentary Affairs and Urban Development, S Suresh Kumar flagged off the Walkathon. He applauded the initiatives of IGBC Bangalore.

He wondered why Indians behaved differently while in Singapore and the same set of people do not hesitate to throw garbage on the roads while in India. He called upon all the participants to see it as their duty in preserving a clean and a green Bangalore. As part of this initiative Suresh Kumar unveiled the ‘Clean City-Green City’ logo.

MLA NA Harris graced the occasion. Former Miss Earth Nicole Faria also participated in the Walkathon.
