1 killed, 3 injured as Tata Sumo rams into lorry

A 20-year-old youth was killed and his three friends were severely injured after their four -wheeler rammed into a lorry at Peenya near the police station on Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as Sateesh, a resident of Laggere and the injured, Manjunath, 28, Basavaraju, 20, and Shivakumar, 21. It is said that all of them were working as drivers.

According to the police, the incident occurred at 11.30 pm when they were returning home after a party.

All of them had consumed alcohol and Sateesh, who was driving his Tata Sumo was allegedly driving fast. He lost control over the vehicle and rammed it into a lorry coming from the opposite direction. Four of them sustained severe injuries and Sateesh died on the spot, the police said. The injured were shifted to a private hospital.The Peenya Traffic police have registered a case.
