5 held for chain snatcher's murder

Kamakshipalya police have arrested five persons in the connection with the murder of chain snatcher at Pillappana Katte in Sunkadakatte on Magadi Road.

The accused have been identified as Naveen Kumar alias Kanda, 23, G Kiran,19 and Lokesh alias Valenga, 20, residents of Hegganahalli, Pradeep alias Bully 20, and Mahesh alias Val, 20,residents of Sunkadakatte. The main accused, Raja is still absconding.

The accused had hacked chain snatcher Rakesh, 27, a resident of Kamakshipalya, to death on September 16.

Investigations revealed that the main accused Raja, along with the arrested five, had hatched the murder plot. Rakesh and Raja were enemies from two years and it is said that Rakesh had an affair with a minor girl and he had eloped with her. When Raja found out the locality where Rakesh was living with the minor girl, he informed the girl’s parents about her whereabouts and helped them to trace her.

After a while, Rakesh, along with his associates, kept threatening Raja, who finally hatched a plan to eliminate him. They attacked him with a lethal weapon on the head and it had slit his throat. Later, they wrapped the body in a mat and threw it in a dilapidated shed in Pillappana Katte, police said.
