It looks like people have a say and can offer suggestions to the BBMP in constructing a bund wall to Sankey tank. The suggestions can be given online through http://bbmp.gov.in till October 6.
The BBMP had axed 17 trees to widen the Sankey Tank Bund Road last year. It is planning to develop a boulevard now.
However, there is another proposal to seek an ‘alternative’ plan for the strengthening of the bund. In this regard, BBMP has now sought public opinion before constructing the bund.
The citizens can give ratings like excellent, good, satisfactory and poor to its proposal. The civic body has uploaded details on Sankey tank, including its history, techincal aspect of the bund, the present problems and alternative methods of constructing.
It is planning to use the Gabions technology to arrest the shearing of the Sankey tank embankment.
The technology provides solution for geo-technical, road, railways, hydraulic and geo-environmental problems using geo-synthetic products and services.
