A 55-year-old man attempted suicide by consuming poison, demanding police to take action on his complaint against his neighbour, at the Madivala police station on Tuesday evening.

Manjunath, a resident of Bommanahalli had filed a complaint with Madiwal Police Station against his neighbour for harassing him. Since Manjunath’s neighbour had also filed a counter complaint, the police had not taken any action against both. Irked by this, Manjunath on Tuesday went to the police station and demanded the police to arrest his neighbour. When police refused to respond to him, he took out a bottle which was said to be containing poison and drank it.

Shocked by the sudden development, police rushed Manjunath to a nearby hospital and got him treated. Manjunath is now apparently out of danger. However, the police have registered a case against Manjunath.
