BBMP Commissioner Rajneesh Goel on Thursday said it is time to wake up and chalk out solutions for the garbage disposal and management with the help of technology.
In an interview with Express, he said the apartment complexes should adopt this.

Inspite of BBMP insisting on garbage management, most of the property owners have not adopted it.
Goel: BBMP was ignoring its responsibilities all these years and this has resulted in the garbage crisis. It’s time to wake up and chalk out solutions with the help of technology. Apartments should also adopt it.
Residents of some apartments have opposed BBMP’s move on garbage disposal. What do you say about this? The city had a problem due to the landfill site crisis.
Garbage disposal is our responsibility. It should not be BBMP Vs apartments. BBMP, with the help of apartment residents, can find a solution for this.
When they are paying garbage cess, why should they pay additional charge for collection of waste? According to Supreme Court, paying cess is not liability for services.
