Man rams car into parked bus, dies

A 23-year-old businessman was killed after he rammed his car into a bus parked on Race Course Road in High Grounds traffic police station limits on Saturday night.

The deceased, Rohan Ram, was a resident of Jayanagar. He owned an iron and steel equipment shop on Avenue Road.

According to the police, the accident took place at around 12.30 am when Ram was going towards Anand Rao Circle in his car (Hyundai I10).

The police said that he drove very rashly and  failed to notice the parked private bus on Race Course Road. He rammed his car into it and died on the spot.

Police suspect he was drunk when the incident took place. The High Grounds police took nearly two-and-a-half hours to remove his body, which was stuck under the bus.

The High Grounds police have registered a case.

Mishaps in the past

On January 19, two employees of an IT firm were killed when their speeding two-wheeler rammed into a parked truck in Electronics City.

On December 25, three students of Central College of Engineering, all from Himachal Pradesh, died in an accident when their bike rammed into a BBMP garbage truck parked on Bannerghatta Main Road.

On December 2, a 36-year-old man died after he  rammed his bike into a tanker parked on the road near Horamavu Ring Road flyover.

His his wife and a three-year-old child survived the accident.

On November 24, a family of five, all travelling in a Maruti 800 car, were killed when their car rammed into a parked private bus on Magadi-Ramanagaram Road.

On February 21, three students who were headed to a coffee shop in Kolar were killed after their car rammed into a stationary truck trailer, which was parked near  Dasarahalli Gate, on Old Madras Road.

One student, however, survived injuries in the accident.
