Naanu vote Maadtini

With the election just two weeks away and every party in the fray, there is frenzy across the city to gather votes using various gimmicks. But there are some other agencies too, which are putting in an effort to ask people to ‘just vote’.

An NGO, Srushti Ventures in Basavangudi, has taken up a conscious effort to make Bangaloreans to come out and vote as they kick start their campaign, ‘Naanu Vote Madthini’ (I will cast my vote), on Tuesday.

Nagaraj Navunda, Secretary of the NGO stated, “The fundamental idea behind this campaign was to creatively appeal to people to make them understand the importance of casting their votes. It is an awareness campaign to get more people into the process of voting.”

They have created a ‘Vote spot’, which will be located at the Volley Ball Circle- a strategic location where six roads meet and intersect with four MLA constituencies - Basavangudi, Chikpet, Padmanabanagar and Jaynagar.

Vedesh M Gangur, the treasurer said, “This vote spot is not a one day concept. After its inauguration on Tuesday, it will remain open till the day of elections. We are completely apolitical; our focus is only making more people come out of their homes and exercise their votes.”

Vote spot has a booth for suggestions from the people too. They have designed huge canvases with interesting slogans, inspiring people to think and vote.

Also, they have wall spaces created for people to put in their signatures, vouching to exercise their fundamental right to vote.
