Shri Nimishananda Guruji said, “Delays occur mainly due to two reasons. One is Karma and the other is Divine Grace. Yes, Divine Grace sometimes slows down things to prevent disasters. If for instance, you are destined to be injured by a bad accident at a certain place and time, God’s Grace may see to it that you have a flat tyre a little before this. Then the bad Karma is experienced simply as a frustrating delay and you are protected from travelling till the risky period is safely over. Not realising this, we often curse all the external agencies that caused the delay! Divine Grace may also cause delays to teach you something or to enable you to help somebody.
Once we hand over the helm of our lives to God, we can always be rest assured that He will take complete care of us. Then everything that happens is always for the best. When we try to retain control, many things are likely to go wrong because our vision is limited. We can’t see our own Karmic blocks. We are unaware of what lies hidden in our Karmic account and of what the future holds for us. That is why we say, “Man proposes, God disposes.” If you want to reach the goal early, you must pray to God and ask Him to take over everything completely. Offer all that you have unconditionally at His Feet - your time, talents, skills and material possessions. Then you will experience the whole beauty of life.”
Vasanth said, “We experience momentary states of surrender, but we are unable to retain it for a long time, Pujya Guruji.” Shri Nimishananda Guruji said, “Yes, that is because there is not enough sadhana. When there is a state of surrender, you listen not only to the words of your Guru, but also to all those who speak to you. Since there is no Ego, there is no resistance. One is completely open. That is why many Mahatmas who live in a state of total surrender are like children. They are free and innocent. They have no inhibitions and are joyful and spontaneous. They feel an integral sense of oneness with all beings. Without this feeling of oneness, Divinity will not operate wholly in our lives.
In order to develop this oneness, begin by treating everyone alike. This does not apply just to human beings, but to all creatures. Do not make any distinctions between them. As long as there is a feeling of oneness in you, you are in tune with creation. If you focus on the differences, there can be no unity or integrity.”
