Motorists ram into parked tractor, die

Two employees of a private automobile company were killed when their speeding two-wheeler rammed into a parked tractor, leading to a chain of accidents on Hosur Road flyover near Electronics City on Saturday. A car driver escaped with minor injuries in the accident but traffic was thrown out of gear on the flyover for nearly two hours.

The deceased are identified as Jayaprakash, (35) and his colleague Suresh Raj (37), residents of Hosur.

According to police, the incident occurred around 12.30 pm when the duo was heading towards Attibele. Raj, who was speeding on his two-wheeler, rammed into the tractor parked on the flyover as cleaning work was going on. The duo was thrown on road and a speeding car coming from behind ran over them.

Raj was killed on the spot while Jayaprakash, who was riding pillion severely injured. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead, police said.

A case of negligence has been booked against the tractor driver.
