And they walked in style

Parade of Fashion, a fashion show held for its graduating students by the International Institute of Fashion Technology Bangalore (IIFT), took place at Chowdaiah Memorial recently.

Six final year MBA and fashion designing students showcased their garments at the annual  event.

The directors of Media Times, Bhuvan Shastri and Srinath and the director of Zoom magazine, Shivakumar, were the chief guests of the show.

Shilpi Choudary, a fashion designer, Asha R, a senior model and Shayan Rezaee, a model turned fashion designer, presided as judges over the event.

The six graduates showcased their designs, each centered  on themes like 'Dark Lord’, 'Explore', 'Sentimental Stone' etc.

Eminent personalities in the fashion industry lauded the efforts of the students Sagar Gowda, Deepthi, Shravan Tadiyappana, Nisha A, Arshia and Sinchana for their innovative designs.

The show was choreographed by senior model and judge, Asha R, who turned up at the show in a sensuous leopard print dress.

The models Raksha, Swetha, Archana, Rinku, Manisha Pawar, Ruby, Suman, Neha Saxena, Vidya Gowda and several others strutted down the ramp in stylish dresses designed by the students.

 A lot of performances were also organised to entertain the audience.

Of the three dance performances, the first which greeted the viewers before the show commenced, was the introductory Ganesh Vandhana, choreographed by Malur Srinivas.

He also directed two other dance sequences which played to the tunes of Kalasu, a popular Hindi song, and Jogaiah, a Kannada fusion song.

The others included a rendition of a Kannada song, by popular singers Shashank and Sangeetha, and dances by children of the Venkey dance group who grooved to   Jai Ho, a hindi fusion song, and Ha Amate.

These performances were well received by the crowd.
