2 women killed in accidents

A 39-year woman was killed after a speeding truck rammed into her two-wheeler on MES Road near Kuvempu Circle in Jalahalli on Monday night. The deceased was identified as Latha Sathish, a resident of Sahakara Nagar.

Police said the incident occurred around  10 pm when she was returning home from her friend’s house on a scooter. She was rushed to a private hospital where she was declared brought dead. Jalahalli traffic police have registered a case.

In another incident, a 45-year-old domestic help was killed when an unidentified vehicle knocked her down on Pipeline Road in Peenya on Monday. The deceased was identified as Gangamma, a native of Kunigal, who was living with her family in Mallasandra near Peenya. Police said the incident occurred when she was trying to cross the road. She was killed on the spot. Peenya traffic police have registered a case and are investigating.
