An internal part of a computer was mistaken for an explosive device in a private pharmaceutical company in Rajajinagar here on Wednesday evening. This led to a lot of panic among employees and the general public for some time.
According to the police, the employees of Dr Cure Pharmaceuticals India Private Limited in Rajajinagar 5th Block noticed a red-coloured object attached to a toilet pipe on the second floor. Panic ensued around 7 pm as the employees stormed out of the building assuming that it was an explosive device, and the panic spread to the nearby public.
“We received a call around 8.30 pm and we rushed to the spot with a dog squad. After a thorough check, we found that it was a computer part that was made to look like an explosive to mislead the public,” Magadi Road police said.
