Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum and National Board of Accreditation (NAB) on Saturday signed a Memorandum of Understanding to take up programmes to improve quality of technical education.

University Vice-Chancellor H Maheshappa told reporters here on Friday, “Our institution will be a nodal agency in qualitative improvement of technical education and this is the recognition given to us by NAB.”

The MoU is a strategic alliance for capacity building in outcome-based education and accreditation, said, NAB member secretary D K Phaliwal.

NAB has identified 15 such centres as nodal agencies for conducting training workshops for all stakeholders such as members of management, faculty and students.

VTU has identified five centers at Bangalore, Belgaum, Gulbarga, Mysore and Davangere to conduct these workshops.
