The Girinagar police on Thursday arrested a gang of seven, who allegedly killed one Vinay in a gang war on Monday.
The accused are Pradeep alias Pradi, 26, M Manjunath alias Garage Manja, 23, K Ajaykumar alias Dadiya alias Gaja, 24, Ganesh alias Gani alias Chappar, 19, residents of Gavipuram Guttahalli, Manjunatha alias Ittamadu Manja, 22, of VBHCS Layout, Shivaraj alias Shiva, 19, of Dhobi Ghat and Deepu alias Garage Deepu, 23 of RPC Layout.
Police said that the gang was arrested near Rajarajeshwari Hospital on Mysore Road. During the interrogation the accused revealed that Vinay, a resident of Hanumantha Nagar had taken Pradeep’s bike to buy pan masala on June 16 after threatening him. Upset over this Pradeep along with his friends had thrashed Vinay after he turned up.
Pradeep picked up a quarrel with Vinay over the same issue in the night and started assaulting him. As Vinay tried to escape, Pradeep along with his gang chased Vinay and killed him on the spot at Muneshwara Block, the police said. The police recovered three autos and lethal weapons from the accused.
