The High Court on Monday ordered a Lokayukta or a CID inquiry against a former Bangalore Special Deputy Commissioner for taking a suo motu action on 1.5 acres of land at Siddapura and asking the property owner Ningamma’s legal heirs to get the property transferred to their names after paying the arrears.
The Division Bench headed by Justice K L Manjunath observed that the Special Deputy Commissioner did not have any reason to initiate suo motu proceedings on an abandoned land.
A CID or Lokayukta inquiry should be conducted into the case.
The bench also directed the Special DC to look into the issue once again.
A writ petition was filed alleging that the Special DC initiated the suo motu action with vested interest.
