Man strangles wife after argument

A fight over cooking food resulted in the man strangling his wife to death. He later surrendered before the police. The deceased is Mehar Taj (29), wife of Abdul Azeez (37), a goods auto driver and native of Dargah Jogalli in Doddaballabur.

This was the second marriage for both Mehar Taj and Abdul Azeez. They were staying in a rented house with their two daughters in Shamanna Garden at Bytarayanapura.

The family had gone to a dargah near Shivanasamudra on Tuesday and returned on Wednesday night. Taj was tired after the  journey and asked Azeez to get food from a hotel, but he refused saying he did not have money for it. This led to an argument and he took their two daughters to their grandparents’ house and returned with a parcel.

After dinner, they again had a fight on financial issue and in the heat of the argument, Azeez strangled Taj with a plastic wire. Later, he informed his friend and surrendered to Byatarayanapura police station.
