A new vice-chancellor for Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) could be selected soon as a four-member search committee will meet at Raj Bhavan on Saturday, official sources said. Incumbent V-C H Maheshappa’s term ends on June 30.
The VTU search committee comprises former Kuvempu University V-C K Chidananda Gowda (VTU executive council nominee), VTU engineering dean D H Rao (VTU academic senate nominee), Indian Institute of Science director P Balaram (state government nominee) and former V-C of Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, Pune, L M Patnaik (governor’s nominee).
