Rector murder: Cops get key clues

More than a month after the murder of rector K J Thomas, police said they have finally found clues which can help them solve the mystery behind his death. A senior officer said,  “Some important clues  have been finally found. I don’t want to reveal anything about the accused now.”

The probe has been expedited after the recent visit of city police commissioner Raghavendra H Auradkar to St Peter’s Pontifical Seminary at Malleswaram where the 62-year-old rector was found murdered on April 1.

Auradkar told Express that the probe team was approaching the case from various angles. “We have questioned more than 40 people, some of whom could be directly involved with the rector’s murder. We can safely say that the investigation has found a breakthrough and the case will be solved soon,” he said.

Two days ago, the commissioner and the probe team visited Archbishop Bernard Moras.

“During our interaction, the police expressed the hope of solving the case soon. However, they did not reveal the motive behind the murder. The rector’s family is waiting to know why the rector met his tragic fate,” Moras said.
