After successfully cleaning up a number of localities, the ‘Swalpa Cleanup Maadi’ initiative was launched at Bore Bank Road on Saturday to address the problem of uncleared garbage in the area.

Residents said uncleared garbage was a long-standing problem affecting everyone.

The initiative on Saturday was the 10th Swalpa Cleanup Maadi Drive after efforts in Frazer Town, R T Nagar, J C Nagar and other areas.

Area residents, corporators and volunteers were involved in the cleanup drive. Hemant, a volunteer and local resident, said he had almost moved out of the area due to the garbage problem.
