Unidentified miscreants, who allegedly gained entry into a jewellery shop by drilling its rear wall, decamped with silver articles, jewels and other goods worth about Rs 20 lakh.

The incident was reported in Sampige Jewellers on Sampige Main Road at Malleswaram on Monday night.

The police said the burglary came to light when the shopowner came to the shop on Tuesday morning.

According to police, the miscreants drilled a hole in the rear wall of the shop from an old building behind it. The building is deserted. The Malleswaram have collected CCTV footages and are investigating the case.
