Arun, a small-time realtor, had murdered Jyothi Lakshmi (33), an HR executive of a private company, on August 2, J P Nagar police who investigated the case said.

She was found murdered at her house in Venkatadri Layout of J P Nagar 7th Phase and her five-year-old daughter lying unconscious next to her. The police said Arun, a resident of Doresanipalya off Bannerghatta Road, had stabbed her to death. Jyothi was working a software company at Doresanipalya. Her daughter Jagruthi was pushed away by the assailant, they added.

Arun, who had incurred loss in business and needed money, had contacted a security guard, who was near Jyothi’s house, seeking a house for rent. The guard had told him that Jyothi would be relocating to some other place vacating her house and he may                                     occupy it.

Later, Arun, who had kept an eye on her movements, planned  to rob and stab her. He did not rob the house, but escaped, the police said.   

4 Dacoits Held

Kadugodi police arrested four of an eight-member dacoity gang and recovered `51.82 lakh from them. The accused are Raghu alias Hegde alias Slum (24) of Kathriguppe Main Road, Manu Kumar alias Kaadu (26) of Lakshmipura, Harish Gupta alias Shetty (26) of ITI Colony near Vidhyapeeta Circle and Sagar (24) of Srirangapatna, Mandya.
